RESIDENTS & FRIENDS OF RUTTLE ESTATE INC. WELCOMES YOU
A beautiful community!
WHO WE ARE
We are a group of people who love the Albert Ruttle Estate!
We formed our Residents & Friends of Ruttle Estate group to work to keep the beautiful 22 acre Wetlands reserve fronting on Albert Ruttle Drive and John Flagg Rise freely accessible to our community and unspoiled by development.

RUTTLE ESTATE HISTORY
The Albert Ruttle Estate is a unique environmental subdivision originated by Jeff and Sue Metherall, on their cattle farming land west of Inverloch. The Overall Development Plan (ODP) was finalised in November 1993. It comprised 30 large building allotments and an 8.7 ha Reserve. Landowners are required to abide by a strict set of environmental guidelines – see the Estate Restrictive Covenant document in the Background Info section. Land was released in two stages: the first in the mid-1990s, the second (set around John Flagg Rise) around 2010. The Estate is zoned Rural Living with the objective to provide for residential use in a rural environment and to protect and enhance the natural resources, biodiversity and landscape and heritage values of the area.
THE RESERVE
The Ruttle Estate Reserve is a beautiful and unique area that was one of the important draw-cards of the original Estate. This Reserve was a significant portion of the site and was set aside for environmental restoration and community enjoyment. The Reserve development, which was a requirement of the Council in the creation of the subdivision, included the creation of several wetlands’ ponds and extensive planting of indigenous species. It integrated an existing farm dam and an old blue metal quarry which has historical significance. A bird hide was constructed and over the years has been used by bird watchers with the wetlands attracting many bird species. The Reserve was also popular with local walking groups., and supports a wide range of animals - see the link below.
